Mid/Senior Level PHP Developer

Skiddle currently sells tickets for the likes of The Warehouse Project, Creamfields, Digbeth Dining Club and Live Nation, and hundreds of independent venues and promoters across the country. Likewise, we host the largest festival guide in Europe. 


Role Summary:

With over 10 million page impressions per month with a 30+% growth year on year, you will be working on the busiest event ticketing website in the UK. As an integral member of the team, you will have expertise to suggest approaches to finding solutions and are able to drive a project from concept to completion. Our development team is small but moves quickly, so an understanding agile workflow and developing in an iterative process is an advantage. 


Person Specification:

You will be an extremely organised individual who possesses a high level of communication both internally and externally with a desire to achieve, no matter how challenging the request with understanding and compassion. 

We are seeking someone who is passionate and love what they do, and looks to continually improve their skills, whilst mentoring junior others to do the same. 

The successful candidate will have a gained a relative computing degree and be able to demonstrate an up to date portfolio of work, side projects are advantageous.

Essential Requirements: 

*      Minimum 2-3 years Commercial PHP experience

*      Ability to work with legacy code

*      Some experience with Laravel/Lumen (or other Framework)

*      Comfortable with Object Oriented design

*      Web services / RESTful api 

*      Integrating with 3rd Party Software

*       Importance of security

*      MySQL

*      Experience with version control (GIT)

*      Ability to discuss technical solutions with team members / stakeholders and provide  innovative new ideas to solutions


Desirable Requirements:

*       Front end coding - HTML, CSS (SCSS, Styled Components), Javascript 

*      Javascript Frameworks (React)

*      Working with AWS

*      Experience with ElasticSearch 

*      Good understanding of user experience best practice 

*      Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to  accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies, and keep team members informed as appropriate
