Mid/Senior Level PHP Developer

We are looking for a talented PHP developer to join our expanding development team.


Trading since 2001, Skiddle sell tickets for tens of thousands of events throughout the UK, from independent club nights through to 60,000 capacity festivals.


Skiddle currently sells tickets for the likes of The Warehouse Project, Reading and Leeds Festivals, Live Nation and hundreds of independent venues and promoters across the country. With over 10 million page impressions per month with a 30%+ growth year on year, you will be working on the busiest event ticketing website in the UK. Likewise we host the largest festival guide in Europe. The position is based in our open plan office in Longridge, near Preston and just off the M6.


We value your opinion! As an integral member of the team, you will have expertise to suggest approaches to finding solutions, and are able to drive a project from concept to completion. Our development team is small but moves quickly, so an understanding agile workflow and developing in an iterative process is an advantage.


We are looking for someone who is passionate and love what they do, and looks

to continually improve their skills, whilst mentoring junior others to do the same.


You will have a gained a relative computing degree and be able to demonstrate an up to

date portfolio of work, side projects are advantageous.


Must have:

  • At least 2 years Commercial PHP experience
  • Ability to work with legacy code
  • Comfortable with Object Oriented design
  • Web services / RESTful api
  • Integrating with 3rd Party Software
  • Importance of security
  • MySQL
  • Experience with version control (SVN / GIT)
  • Be able to discuss technical solutions with team members and other stakeholders and provide innovative new ideas to solutions.


Would like to have:

  • Working with AWS
  • Experience with ElasticSearch
  • Experience with load testing tools
  • Good understanding of user experience best practice
  • Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies, and keep team members informed as appropriate
